Instilling a sense of nationalism in the era of globalization, especially among the younger generation, is a challenging task. History learning is one of the ways to cultivate nationalism and patriotism among young people through understanding the struggles of the nation’s founding heroes. Therefore, the program “Learning the History of Indonesian Heroes through Hero Coloring Training” was introduced as an effort to address this challenge. This study employed an empowerment method consisting of observation, preparation of narrative and visual materials, and the implementation of a coloring training program involving 30 children aged 7–10 years in Gowok Hamlet, Polengan Village, Magelang Regency, Central Java. The results of the program demonstrated that an interactive learning approach through storytelling and coloring activities successfully increased children’s interest in history, introduced exemplary heroic values, and fostered a sense of nationalism reflected in their daily behavior. Thus, creative and contextual learning methods proved effective in building the foundation of nationalism from an early age and can serve as a strategy to strengthen cultural resilience amid the currents of globalization.
