Submission Process
This page is part of the journal’s official information pages. Please refer to the latest version before preparing a submission, review, or editorial correspondence.
All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Submissions via email will not be accepted. Upon registration and profile completion in OJS, authors must ensure that all required personal and institutional information is accurately recorded, including full name(s), institutional affiliation(s), email address(es), ORCID iD(s), and a brief biographical note of no more than 100 words per author. This information will be used for correspondence and publication purposes and must not appear anywhere in the manuscript file.
Blind Peer Review and Author Anonymity
Decolonial Perspectives operates under a rigorous double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review procedure. To facilitate this process, authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript file contains absolutely no author-identifying information. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Author names, initials, or institutional affiliations in the manuscript body, header, footer, or file metadata
- Self-referential phrases such as 'In our previous study...' or 'As the author has argued elsewhere...' that may identify the author(s)
- Acknowledgements or funding statements that identify the author(s) — these should be removed from the submitted file and reinserted only upon acceptance
- References to the authors' own prior work that are formatted differently from other citations in ways that might identify the author(s)
The editorial system will automatically attribute the manuscript to the submitting author based on OJS registration data. The editorial office will not be held responsible for reviewer unblinding resulting from failure to remove author-identifying information.
Files to be Submitted
The following files must be uploaded at the time of submission:
- Manuscript File: The main manuscript, formatted in accordance with these guidelines, without any author-identifying information (.docx format)
- Title Page (uploaded as a separate supplementary file): Including the full title, all author names, institutional affiliations, ORCID iDs, corresponding author contact details, and any acknowledgements or funding information that could identify the authors
- Cover Letter: A brief statement addressed to the Editor-in-Chief confirming that the manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration elsewhere; confirming authorial agreement with the submission; and providing a brief (200-word) justification of the manuscript's suitability for Decolonial Perspectives
- Supplementary Materials (if applicable): Including datasets, interview guides, codebooks, or extended appendices
