Disaster-prone areas are those located close to Mount Merapi, thus having the potential risk of an eruption. This situation requires efforts to increase community preparedness knowledge from an early age, especially children. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge, awareness, and preparedness of elementary school-aged children for volcanic eruptions through disaster education. The method used is a participatory and educational approach with stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. The activity was carried out through the delivery of interactive materials, screening educational videos, experiments with miniature cardboard volcanoes, and simple quizzes. The results of the activity showed an increase in children’s understanding of the definition of volcanoes, signs of eruptions, the dangers they pose, and mitigation steps before, during, and after an eruption.
